As women we encounter daily struggless and difficulties. Whether its our finances, children, jobs or unhealthy realtionships we find ourselves facing the "fiery furnace" which produces stress and anxiety.
One day while meditating in the Word of God, I ran across the scripture Daniel 3:20-22 where King Nebuchadnezzar ordered Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to be thrown into the fiery furnace.
The scripture which was so profound to me was: 21"So they tied them up and threw them in the furnance, fully dressed in their pants, turbans, robes and other garments" (New Living Translation). In my study of the Word, I realize that each scripture has a significant meaning. I wanted to fully understand the meaning of this scripture and what the clothing represent.
In my research I found that the human body is known to be difficult to ignite, and it does not readily support to combustion on its own. What can happen however, is if a body is ignited whilst clothed, the body fat can melt and be absorbed into the clothing that remains and the fat-soaked clothing acts like a wick, burning in a similiar fashion to a candle, although an inside out candle.
Just like us, when we experience severe trials and tribulation, it is likened unto a fire. Satan uses our thoughts as a "wick". He uses depression, anxiety, fear, worry, bitterness, resentment and doubt as wick to destroy us from the inside out.
However, just like the three Hebrew boys, we must learn that the fiery furnace is only a temporary situation and God never leaves us in the midst of the fire alone. It is He who is standing with you in the midst of fire.
I, myself have experienced the heat of the fiery furnace. During these times, I thought the heat would combust me. But just as the three Hebrew boys, I made it through the fire unscorched.
Will you stand in the midst of the fire?
There are times when it is hard to stand in the fire. But I believe it is why God allows the fiery trials to come.
ReplyDeleteRight now, I am in the midst of some circumstances which I feel has reached "sudden death." My heart and mind really love God. But there are days when I feel like I'm about to be consumed.
When I have these days, I question my faith. I know it is a trick of the enemy to make me lose focus. But, I get caught up anyway.
It is with all that I have to stand in faith. But, like Paul we begin to get caught up in the circumstances and we lose focus of God.
But, what I love about the three Hebrew boys (is revelation to me) they never lost sight of God.
Even though Nebuchadnezzar ordered the furnance to be heated seven times hotter than before, the Hebrew boys did not falter in their faith and belief in God.
When we are faced with adverse trials we can take on the experience of the three Hebrew boys. Realizing that even when the fire arise, and it seems as if it is about to engulf us. We must believe in the midst of the fire, God is still there.
One thing I can stand on for sure, is knowing that the "weapon may form" but God promises "it will not prosper".
