"Just Believe!" (Part V of Are you a seer?)

3For the scriptures tell us, "Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith (Roman 4:3)."

As I draw to the close of the five-part posts entitled: "Are you Seer?" I can't help but to reiterate the importance of faith and belief in His Word. You see, faith and belief in what God says He is able to accomplish goes hand in hand. One can't operate without the other. Now fear on the other hand, is something totally different.

Recently, I had the pleasure of reading a phenomenal book written by motivator/speaker/author, Simon T. Bailey entitled: Release Your Brillance. Mr Bailey writes:

"Our fears create filters that distort the truth and alter our view of reality. Fear filters, choke our courage and squelch our hope. Consequently we sit back and do nothing, or even worse, we crawl back in our shells like turtles and hide."

Mr. Bailey further writes:

"Fear is that little darkroom where negatives are developed. The more we dwell on our fears the more negative we become about ourselves, our lives, and our future. Give up the person you've been and choose to become what God intended you to be. All the tools you need to release your brilliance are within you. These tools are your thoughts, your beliefs and your actions. They are the combination to the vault."

Fear is the sibling to unbelief. Which are cousins to worry, anxiety, hopelessness and doubt . You see, all these negative forces combined, distort our thinking and focus on our present situation and circumstances, instead of our future.

Belief and faith does the opposite, because it focuses on what is unseen and draws on the spiritual things to manifest the things of God (or promises of God) into the present. When belief and faith operate hand in hand, there is an expectation that something good will happen. Mr. Bailey states:

"Expectation is the breeding ground for brilliance."

Although he makes a valid point, I believe that "expectation is the breeding ground for faith." Why? The Word of God provides in the book of Hebrews (11:1):

11Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.

Further the Word provides (Hebrews 11:6):

6And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that he exists and that he reward those who sincerely seek him.

Both scriptures provide that we are to expect great things from God, through faith. However we must realize that faith is a force believed in your heart and not that of your mind. Faith poses as a servant unto you. When you call upon it, and operate in it, it has no choice but to obey you.

A lot of Christians waste too much time trying to increase their faith. Faith is not increased, it is already given to each of us according to our measure of belief. One day while teaching the apostles about forgiveness they asked Jesus to show them how to increase their faith. Jesus replied (Luke 17:6-10):

6"If you had faith even as small as a mustard see, you could say to this mulberry tree, 'May you be uprooted and thrown into the sea,' and it would obey you!

7"When a servant comes in from plowing or taking care of sheep, does his master say, 'Come in and eat with me'?

8No, he says, 'Prepare my meal, put on your apron, and serve me while I eat. Then you can eat later.'

9And does the master thank the servant of doing what he was to do do? Of course not.

10In the same way, when you obey me you should say, 'We are unworthy servants who have simply done our duty.'"

Therefore, faith operates as a servant unto the believer. When it is called upon from the heart, it must perform as God has purposed it to do. For He is a God of demonstration and power, so that no "man" can boast.

"The power of God is that ability and strength whereby He can bring to pass whatsoever He pleases, whatsoever His infinite wisdom may direct, and whatsoever the infinite purity of His will may resolve. . . . As holiness is the beauty of all God’s attributes, so power is that which gives life and action to all the perfections of the Divine nature. How vain would be the eternal counsels, if power did not step in to execute them. Without power His mercy would be but feeble pity, His promises an empty sound, His threatenings a mere scarecrow. God’s power is like Himself: infinite, eternal, incomprehensible; it can neither be checked, restrained, nor frustrated by the creature (S. Charnock)."

Paul also provides in 1 Corinthians 1:3-5:

3I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. 4My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, 5so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.

A lot of Christians are no longer relying on God's power but in the wisdom of men. Some of you right now, are dying to start your own businesses, write your first book, return back to school, change careers, marry the right man, drive beautiful cars, own brand new homes, be in good health and your bank accounts overflowing.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not on a prosperity misson, I'm on a will of God mission, which just happens to include prosperity and wealth. I don't have to claim it and name it, when I already know I have it.

But most of us are being hindered because we fail to see ourselves as God sees us, but as man see us. Dr. Patricia Bailey author of "Women Risktakers", provides:

"What and who are the influences in our lives that we allow to sway us negatively? We must learn to stop taking our dreams before dream killers by sharing our 11 x 16 visions with people who have had only 5 x 7 visions and experiences!"

What is in your life which cause a negative influence? What voices are you hearing other than the Word of God? Whom and what is your dream killer? What thoughts are dominating your life, which won't allow you to move forward, but keep you tied to your past?

What lies are Satan putting in your head, that says "you won't ever amount to anything?" Who is speaking to you with charm, and you know it is beguile? What predator is lurking at your door, saying he's going to make everything alright, when you know it's all wrong.

All these influences are negative and have no place in our lives. They are a set of details, designed to hold us back and not believe in the Word of God. And, Satan is found in every negative thought, every detail and hinderance. But, faith and belief bypasses all the details. Because, faith dictates your destiny not negative thoughts or people.

Faith and belief in God's word, will respond every time. God is not man that he should lie. His book of love Journals are filled with so many examples of what can happen when we have faith in Him and His Word. Below are a few examples.

1. "God has blessed you above all women, and your child is blessed. Why am I so honored, that the mother of my Lord should visit me? When I heard your greeting, the baby in my wombed jumped for joy. You are blessed because you believed that the Lord would do what he said (Luke 1:42-45)

2. "Master," Simon replied, "we worked hard all last night and didn't catch a thing. But if you say so, I'll let the nets down again." And this time their were so full of fish they began to tear. A shout for help brought their partners in the other boat, and soon both boats were filled with fish and on the verge of sinking (Luke 5:5-7)

"How long has this been happening?" Jesus asked the boy's father. He replied, "Since he was a little boy. The spirit often throws him into the fire or into water, trying to kill him. Have mercy on us and help us, if you can."

"What do you mean, 'If I can'?" Jesus asked. "Anything is possible if a person believes (Mark 9:21-23).

From this day forward, give up the person you've been and choose to be what God intended you to be. An alluring, beautiful, unique, special and extraordinary woman. Stop letting a man and material things define who you are. Read God's love letters, and meditate on His words, He will reveal to you how much He really cares.

Dream in every color of the rainbow. Inside of you is a diamond dying to be released. It wants to illuminate the world, with your brillance and creativity. It's tired of being kept inside, because others fear of what would happen if the person you really are, is revealed.

One thing for sure is, we can't put expectations on men, but we can put them on God. He asks us to prove him, and watch as He does exceedingly and abundantly for all we could ever hope and imagine.

Webster defines a seer as: to see, look, view; to realize, know, consider; to be selected; to become visible, appear, show oneself; to be seen; to cause to see, show; to be shown; to look at each other, meet with; a general word for visual perception.

So I'm asking you for the fifth time, are you a seer? Or do you believe you can see? In any event, just believe you are a seer and eventually you will be.
